Statement from Susan Hall, leader of the GLA Conservatives as Rishi Sunak becomes Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative party:

"Congratulations to Rishi Sunak on being elected leader of the Conservative Party.

As our next Prime Minister, he brings immeasurable talent and experience. Under his leadership, we will secure the economy, stand up to Russia and its illegal war in Ukraine, and deliver on the 2019 manifesto.

With the leadership election concluded, now is the time for Conservatives to unite and get on with the people's priorities."
